Here is what the Lord impressed on me in my Intentional Time with Him today.
This is from my journal…
3506 Psalm 34
Chicago: Fast Day 31
Psalm 34
1 I will bless the LORD at all times; His praise shall continually be in my mouth.
2 My soul will make its boast in the LORD; The humble will hear it and rejoice.
3 O magnify the LORD with me, And let us exalt His name together.
4 I sought the LORD, and He answered me, And delivered me from all my fears.
5 They looked to Him and were radiant, And their faces will never be ashamed.
6 This poor man cried, and the LORD heard him And saved him out of all his troubles.
7 The angel of the LORD encamps around those who fear Him, And rescues them.
8 O taste and see that the LORD is good; How blessed is the man who takes refuge in Him!
9 O fear the LORD, you His saints; For to those who fear Him there is no want.
10 The young lions do lack and suffer hunger; But they who seek the LORD shall not be in want of any good thing.
I love Psalm 34.
I want to live this way. I want to bless and praise the Lord at all times. I want to be one who exalts in Him in good times and bad. Those who love the Lord will join in. Those who do not will complain.
For those who join in, we experience His protection, presence and answered prayers. He will let us to through the times of difficulty, but He will always rescue. In verse 19 David says, “Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but He rescues them out of them ALL”. So with many afflictions comes many rescues.
This is the delectable life full of sweetness and savor. That is why the invitation comes to Taste and See that He is good!
My Abba, Father,
I sit here on a beautiful rainy day in Chicago. Nine more days of the Fast and I am missing certain foods and finding You more. I had Pizza with no crust. It was actually fun, because with each bite I thought of You and what I am praying will occur. Then last night I dreamed my prayer was answered. May it be!
I loved my time with Bill Hybels and the other Pastors. I loved his mentoring. I loved learning. I see so much more clearly a part of our “there”!
I am so excited for what You have for me and for Crossroads!
Love,
Chuck
