We just kicked off our Life Verse series. A Life Verse is a passage of scripture that God uses to call you closer to Him and His ways. Sunday, I shared how God has used 1 Peter 2:21-25 to guide me in my life.
Five years ago when I came to Crossroads, I was sitting in a dark office wondering what God had in store for me. Then as I read Psalm 71 a section leapt off the page and grabbed hold of me. Psalm 71 is called the Psalm of an Old Man. It really seemed to fit in that moment.
17 O God, You have taught me from my youth, And I still declare Your wondrous deeds.
18 And even when I am old and gray, O God, do not forsake me, Until I declare Your strength to this generation, Your power to all who are to come.
19 For Your righteousness, O God, reaches to the heavens, You who have done great things; O God, who is like You?
20 You who have shown me many troubles and distresses Will revive me again, And will bring me up again from the depths of the earth.
21 May You increase my greatness And turn to comfort me.
I sensed that God was telling me He had far more for me than I could ever imagine. He was calling me to, amongst other things, proclaim His Word and ways to the next generation. At that time we had around one hundred students attending Crossroads. Today we have thousands who are a part of our Crossroads family. I think it will increase to many thousands.
I love the power of His Word. I love having this Psalm as my new Life Verse!

I love that Psalms……don’t we have a marvelous
God!!! He does so much for me.
