Friday, November 6, 2009 Departure to Peru
We all arrived bright and early at Crossroads to be picked up at 6:30 AM by the shuttles. Frankly Honey and I wondered if a 6:30 am departure from Crossroads was a bit early for a 12:00 noon flight to Peru. Not so, even with super planning from the team leaders, it was as the Mama Bear said in Goldylocks, “just right”. In other words it went super smooth and the timing of the start was perfect.
We had a nice flight to Lima, where everyone had a chance to get as many movies in as they cared to see. I saw one. My choice, once again, was to see “Road to Perdition”, where I could watch one of our Crossroads members star Tyler Hoechlin did such a great job in that movie!
In Lima Stephanie kept us all in team spirit during our six hour layover. We boarded a flight to Cusco , our destination, at 4:50 am arriving at about 6:3o am to be picked up by Ricardo, our Cusco Missionary Minister and host.
All in all, day one ended great for a tired group of 20 Crossroads missionaries. We are all looking forward to the work we have here and hope to represent Crossroads and most importantly Jesus Christ well.
