The Barnabus Project
“Strengthening our hearts through the Word”
The Barnabus Project is about encouraging each other to read through the Bible in 2007. The project derives its name from the disciple Barnabus in Acts 4:36 where he is referred to as the “Son of Encouragement”, to encourage someone just means to strengthen.
We encourage several ways to start:
1) Pick up a copy of the “One Year Bible”. This bible is available at
Berean book store for Crossroads members for $10 for soft back
and $13 for hardback.
2) Use your own bible and follow along with the PDF file you can
download from crossroadschurch.com.
3) You can strike out on your own. If you read three chapters a day
you will get through the bible in a year. There are other of
variations on the internet just Google “Daily Bible Reading”.
Some bibles also come with their own daily reading schedule.
If the reading load is too heavy, simply read some Scripture every day. What you read this year will be more than you have read in the past.
We at the Barnabus Project want to be able to pray for, encourage and challenge you through occasional e-mails or standard mail. We don’t ask for an accounting. We share tips, encouraging words, funny stories and things that have worked for other readers.
So get busy and encourage family members and friends to join you. We are in for an exciting adventure with our Lord and Savior. If you miss a day or two or week or month, jump back on the bandwagon. COME ALONG IT’S THE ADVENTURE OF A LIFE TIME!
For more information or encouragement, please email barnabus@crossroadschurch.com.
