SERMON APPLICATION:

  1. Reflecting upon your current relationship with God, do you truly trust Him, do you Believe in Him, and do you trust Him with your life? If no to any of these, what is standing in the way of that no turning into a yes?
  2. Considering the Sermon on the Mount, and Jesus' call for us to live the Blessed Life, and call to take action on the truths that he laid forth, have you taken action and are you currently experiencing and living that out? If no, what is it that is holding you back from having and experiencing this kind of life?
  3. For faith to be real, it needs to go from the head to the heart, and then into action. With this in mind, what location is your faith currently residing? Is it within your head, your heart, or has it moved into realm of action? How would your life change and/or improve if you were to commit to seeing your faith move from the head, to the heart, and into action? Explain
  4. Nothing is beyond God, and real action on your part is what cements your faith. With this in mind, how has your actions cemented your faith?
  5. Rereading Matthew 8:5-13, and focusing upon the importance of belief that one has, one a scale from one to ten, where does your belief lie? What is your reaction to Jesus' words, “Go, it shall be for you as you have believed” and how does that statement reveal the importance of the level in which you believe?
  6. In Matthew 8:18-22, Jesus reveals the true cost of discipleship. That the call is not to the easy life, but the amazing one. Considering this, and the culture we live in today, combined with the dynamics of your own life, in what ways do you believe this scripture applies today, and more specifically, to you?
  7. Matthew 8:26-27 reveals the true test, which was the need for more faith. Taking a moment to consider how this test might apply to you, are you in need of more faith? Do you believe God is always thinking the best for you? Have you answered the true call, which is to trust Him with everything, in everything? If no to any of these questions, what is holding you back from taking that step of faith, and moving from position of complacency, into a state action?
