COMMUNITY GROUPS – SMALL GROUP
Community Groups and Small Group are the same thing. The word “Community” is a better description of what we are trying to achieve, a group of people from all walks of life that come together with one common goal, to deepen their relationship with God. They gather to share, study, pray and encourage one another. Each group is different and can be made up of non-Christians, new-Christians and mature-Christians, young, old, male, female, married, single, from hikers to bikers.
WHAT CAN I EXPECT IN A COMMUNITY GROUP?
Community Groups can meet anywhere (in homes, on the church campus, in a park). They meet weekly, bi-weekly or monthly. Community Groups are lead by a “Facilitator” who is the designated “leader” of the group. Every group has a different personality and is made up by the people who participate. There is a group to fit “Who you are.”
Get involved in a Community Group! It is certain to transform the lives of individual participants and the life of the church as a whole. Community groups are currently forming and we are actively seeking facilitators.
WHY PARTICIPATE IN A COMMUNITY GROUP?
In God’s Word we see real community taking place in the context of small groups in homes.
“They devoted themselves to the apostles teaching and to the fellowship, to the breaking of bread, and to prayer. All the believers were together and had everything in common. Every day they continued to meet together…they broke bread in their homes and ate together…and the Lord added to their number daily those who were being saved.” Acts 2:42, 44, 46-47
“Day after day, in the temple courts and from house to house they never stopped teaching and proclaiming the Good News that Jesus is the Christ.” Acts 5:42
“Greet also the church that meets at their house.” Romans 16:5
“Aquilla and Priscilla greet you warmly in the Lord and so does the church that meets at their house.” 1 Cor. 16:19
