The Rise of the Remnant

While many churches are chained to their past and lose sight of their mission, for 133 years, Crossroads has not. As the world continues to grow cold, fearful, and selfish, the three pillars of our mission, to create a passionate commitment to Christ, His Cause, and His Community, are more important than ever.

Christ

Updated graph

During the pandemic, we saw many people walk away from the Church because they didn’t have a deeply rooted faith. Our elders had a vision to see people GROW those roots of faith in Jesus, so we launched a House of Study where thousands of people deepened their understanding of the Bible and took next steps toward Him. Since we started GROW in the fall of 2022, we’ve seen record-breaking, deep-root growth every year.

  • The number of people reading God’s word each day jumped from 15% to 38%
  • 2,565 people joined our House of Study this past year
  • Our church’s “general fund” generosity grew 18% over three years to $12.2M.
  • 52.4% shared their testimony recently, up 7% from 2023
  • Our average First Wednesday attendance, in person and online, grew by 28% since 2023 from 1,684 to 2,148

Though our focus was primarily on growing roots in this season, we know fruit is ultimately a result of that health and we saw a growth of 17% to 13,242 in our average weekly attendance because people who really know Jesus want others to know Him too.

Cause

The cause of Christ, to seek and save the lost and care for the vulnerable, has never been more necessary than it is today. As the world becomes darker and colder in these last days, the Church must live differently. There are three distinctives that mark the remnant in our age: caring for the elderly, for those with special needs, and for children. It’s our dream to build spaces that offer dignity, hope, and care to the marginalized.

Compassion Center

A space to expand ministries that serve the most vulnerable:

  • Project Hope has transformed from a ministry that just hands out food to a ministry that now offers counseling and coaching to help families break the cycle of poverty. This new space will include plenty of storage and refrigerator space for food as well as a full kitchen, but will also include private counseling rooms to allow our case managers to hear stories and create goal oriented plans to help our guests find hope.
  • Our Adult Special Needs Ministry has outgrown its current facilities due to the increasing numbers of unchurched families bringing an adult family member with special needs to church with them. This new space will allow us to double our capacity in our Adult Special Needs Ministry during our Sunday services.
  • Our Senior Citizens Ministry has traversed cobblestone and stairs to get to interior buildings for ministry, many with walkers and in wheelchairs. This new building will give our seniors an accessible space for midweek gatherings, and a sense of honor and dignity while on our campus.

Community

Though Crossroads has a rich 133 year history, we understand every local church is one generation away from death. In a world where truth has become relative, and young people are suffering from depression and anxiety, the remnant must rise up to point them to the truth of Jesus and the purpose He has for them. With your help, we can provide spaces for the next generation to flourish in a dying world.
